There's a thousand things that I could run  
To restore my $HOME  
Seems so long ago I backed it up  
Two years, oh no  

Don't remember what I ran that day  
Command line options so strange  
Maybe I should have used da-ash-A  
backups without a change  

Was it something I ran  
to make it go away  
did a rimraf, was excessively broad  
if I could just find a way  
to restore it all right here  
But right now ...  

I've been sitting here  
Can't figure out the line  
I've tried my best to use the `man` and be strong  
My drive I've blown away  
Wishing I could save some face  
But the truth remains...  

$HOME's gone
