原文出自我国西汉著名史学家、文学家司马迁《史记》的第一百二十九章“货殖列传”。
“天下熙熙皆为利来，天下攘攘皆为利往。夫千乘之王，万家之侯，百室之君，尚犹患贫，而况匹夫... ...亲朋道义因财失，父子情怀为利休。急缩手，且抽头，免使身心昼心愁；儿孙自有儿孙福，莫与儿孙作远忧。” ——《史记·货殖列传》
