    I used to think that the internet and the web were the same thing, as the terms are often used interchangeably. I now realize that the internet is a network of networks, while the web is a system that helps to navigate the network.
    If the internet were a spider's web, then the web is like a spider. Spiders are able to traverse their web and retrieve any unsuspecting fly that gets stuck. The spider gets a signal at the fly's location, goes to it, wraps it in more webbing and relocates it.
