Disable Skype ads: 1.) Add hosts to your hosts file 2.) Flush DNS resolver cache (ipconfig /flushdns)

I noticed today that adding https://apps.skype.com to the restricted websites in the Internet Options no longer prevents the ads from being shown in Skype. Further, the Home page now works.
I have added the hosts entries indicated above to my hosts file, with one difference: I commented out the apps.skype.com entry.
Doing so (and still having that URL in the restricted websites list) resulted in being able to access the Home page, while having no ads. I have flushed the DNS cache as well, so the effect shouldn't be an accident.
