Getting Started

Step 1: Payment Portal

Before accessing your courses, ensure you have:

• Completed your fee payment through the payment portal
• Received confirmation of your payment
• Obtained your MIVA email address (@miva.edu.ng)

Step 2: Learning Management System (LMS)

The LMS is your primary platform for accessing course materials and participating in classes.

How to Access the LMS

1. Visit the LMS website (https://class.miva.university)
2. Sign in using either:
   • Your MIVA email (@miva.edu.ng)
   • Your registered personal email

Understanding the LMS Interface

Your course page contains the following menus:

• Home: Landing page with course overview and recent updates
• Modules: Course content organized by topics/weeks, including lectures and materials
• Live Lesson: Join real-time virtual classroom sessions
• Announcements: Important course updates and notifications from instructors
• Assignments: View and submit course assignments
• Discussions: Participate in course discussions with peers and instructors
• Grades: Check your scores and feedback for assignments and assessments
• People: View course participants, including instructors and classmates
• Pages: Access additional course content and resources
• Files: Download course materials and resources
• Syllabus: View course outline, objectives, and schedule
• Quizzes: Take online assessments and view results
• BigBlueButton: Join virtual classroom sessions and recordings
• Collaborations: Work on group projects and shared documents
• Office 365: Access Microsoft Office tools for coursework
• Badges: View earned achievements and recognition

FAQs

• As you proceed with learning, you will need to find and click on the Mark as done button before you click on the Next button to unlock the next course video.
• Some assignments or Lab Exercises will require you to join a group, click on the People tab on that course page and find Group to join one, Ensure to read and follow all instructions carefully to navigate the course with ease, Connect with your group members via your department’s WhatsApp group chat or ask your Success Advisor for guidance on how to reach them.
