It's not specific to Ppotify. It send a signal to the system to execuate the command, which may pause a YouTube video for example.
@asadMarmash You may not like it. But to me this provides functionality for youtube and Spotify. I like this feature.

After testing it for a week I realized that it doesn't always work. Sometimes it stops working after several hours of operation. I have to restart the script to get the keys to work again. Does anyone know why?

Surprisingly, I had been using this tool for years without realizing it had this particular function. It was a perfect fit when I finally discovered its capabilities. The tool I am referring to is Microsoft PowerToys, specifically the Keyboard Manager utility.
