Back end Projects - list

Project Ideas

Ok. I'm going to list off some ideas for projects. You will have to determine if any particular idea is good enough to include in a portfolio. These aren't creative ideas. They likely already exist. Some are way too advanced while others are simplistic.

I will recommend to post any project you make to github and make a github project page for it. Explain in as much detail as possible how you made it, how it can be improved etc. Document it.

If you pick an advanced idea, setup a development roadmap and follow it. This will show some project management skills.

Another piece of advice for those who are design challenged. Use different front end frameworks and use different themes for those frameworks to provide appealing designs without looking like yet another bootstrap site.

Everything you need to know about Shadow DOM

I am moving this gist to a github repo so more people can contribute to it. Also, it makes it easier for me to version control.

Please go to - https://github.com/praveenpuglia/shadow-dom-in-depth for latest version of this document. Also, if you find the document useful, please shower your love, go ⭐️ it. :)

Shadow DOM

Heads Up! It's all about the V1 Spec.

In a nutshell, Shadow DOM enables local scoping for HTML & CSS.

Explaining why we bind things in React

Start With This

Before getting to React, it's helpful to know what this does generally in Javascript. Take the following snippet of code. It's written in ES6 but the principles for this predate ES6.

class Dog {
  constructor() {

Summary of 'Clean code' by Robert C. Martin

Code is clean if it can be understood easily – by everyone on the team. Clean code can be read and enhanced by a developer other than its original author. With understandability comes readability, changeability, extensibility and maintainability.

General rules

  1. Follow standard conventions.
  2. Keep it simple stupid. Simpler is always better. Reduce complexity as much as possible.
  3. Boy scout rule. Leave the campground cleaner than you found it.
  4. Always find root cause. Always look for the root cause of a problem.

Remove a property from a nested object, recursively
/**
* Remove all specified keys from an object, no matter how deep they are.
* The removal is done in place, so run it on a copy if you don't want to modify the original object.
* This function has no limit so circular objects will probably crash the browser
*
* @param obj The object from where you want to remove the keys
* @param keys An array of property names (strings) to remove
*/
function removeKeys(obj, keys){
