clone your own private repo
add upstream
```
git remote add upstream https://github.com/EXAMPLE-USER/ORIGINAL-REPOSITORY.git
git remote set-url --push upstream DISABLE
```
list all your remotes with git remote -v

when you push, do so on origin with git push origin.

fetch upstream git fetch upstream

and restart github desktop
